Doris Faye (Crabbe) Lentz, 79, of Hillsboro, died at 3:16 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 at HSHS St Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the church, with Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will be at Cress Hill Cemetery in Rural Hillsboro.

Mrs. Lentz was born on Aug. 29, 1942, in Pana, to Hubert Forrest Crabbe and Ruth (Cannon) Crabbe. She married Charles E. Lentz, Sr. on July 16, 1964, at the Methodist Church in Corinth, MS.

Mrs. Lentz was a 1960 graduate of Witt High School and a graduate of the Airline Business School in Minneapolis. She was a secretary at Hillsboro Junior High School, the State of Illinois Unemployment Office and the State of Illinois Department of Corrections at Graham Correctional Center, where she worked in the business office. She attended the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro and was a member of the Ladies Civic Club. Mrs. Lentz led backyard Bible clubs, taught Sunday school and led a ladies bible study for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her family and singing and playing piano.

Mrs. Lentz is survived by her husband; children, Charles E. “Chuck” (wife Michelle) Lentz of Bolivar, MO, John (wife Chrissie) Lentz of Hillsboro and Angie (husband Mark) Suchezky of Fenton, MI; nine grandchildren, Sunny (husband Darin) Rosenthal, Josiah Lentz, Uriah Lentz, Christopher (wife Danielle) Suchezky, Andrew Schezky, Hunter Lentz, Nicholas Suchezky, Gunner Lentz and Shekinah Lentz; four great-grandchildren,   Rayne Rosenthal, Rhett Rosenthal, Rhenn Rosenthal and Madison Suchezky; and siblings,  Ruth Sanders of Kentucky, Martha Robertson of Nokomis, Ken Crabbe of Nokomis and Sidney Crabbe of Naperville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
