Donald Edward Walz, 89, of Dana Point, CA, died on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020, at his home, peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral Mass and a Celebration Life will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, in Dana Point, CA, on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10:30 a.m., outside on the bluff. Masks and social distancing are required. Family, friends, and parishioners are welcome to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Walz will be interred together at Holy Sepulcher cemetery in Orange, CA, in a private service.
Mr. Walz was born on July 26, 1931, in Hillsboro, to Joseph and Stella Walz, and the watchful eyes of his older sisters, Francis, Marguerite and Madeline. He married Joan Marie in Oct. 1959, she preceded him in death in Dec. 2013.
Mr. Walz is survived by his beloved children, John (Nan) Walz, Donna Walz and Cara (Doug) Graves; four adored grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tyler)Mintzer, Justin Walz, Joshua (Joanna) Graves and Blake Graves; along with many cousins and extended family members.
