Dennis Wolfe, 67, of Nokomis, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at his residence.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Leon Geoff officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Mr. Wolfe was born March 22, 1953, in Litchfield, the son of Warren Lee and Louella Marie (Hitchings) Wolfe. He married Penny Neisler on Jan. 1, 1981, in Nokomis, and she survives.
He was a 1971 graduate of Pana High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served from 1971 to 1973. He worked as a maintenance lead at AgCo in Assumption.
Family was very important to him, and spending time with his grandchildren and his nephews was always the highlight of his day. He also enjoyed spending time listening to his nephew’s band, and loved classic rock music.
In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his daughter, Chelsie Wolfe of Nokomis; grandchildren, Chandler Lee Wolfe and Lukas Alexander Wolfe, both of Nokomis; his father, Warren Wolfe of Litchfield; sisters, Dianne Smegal of Taylorville and Dawn Ashby of Litchfield; nieces, Michelle, Brittany and Alyssa Ashby; and nephews, Chris Smegal of Blue Mound and Matthew Smegal of Taylorville.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
