Dennis Eugene Pearse, 78, of Nokomis, died on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at his daughter’s home in Springfield.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Aug. 24, beginning at 11 a.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Riverton. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family.
Mr. Pearse was born Nov. 27, 1941, in Nokomis, to Alfred and Loretta (McLean) Pearse. He married Wilma Umberger, and they later divorced. He married Judy Brown, and they later divorced. He then married Diane Dean, and she survives.
He served his country in the U.S. Marines and was awarded three medals during his time of service. After his discharge, he returned home and worked at Firestone in Decatur.
In addition to his wife Diane, Mr. Pearse is survived by his children, Denise Russell of Springfield, Susan Pearse of Nokomis and Joshua (Laura) Pearse of Decatur; grandchildren, Sydni Morgan Russell, Carlin George, Dalton Pearse, Katie Pearse, Hunter Pearse, Autumn Pearse, Kaitlyn Pearse, Madison Pearse, Kaleb Pearse and Levi Pearse; brothers, Gary Pearse of Pana and Larry (Debbie) Pearse of Nokomis; sisters, Sandy Pearse of Witt, Marilyn Carver and Patricia Curry, both of Witt, Nancy Huddleston of Nokomis and Sharon Lindstom of Oakland, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sara Jean Pearse; and sister, Kathy Settle.
