Deborah T. Bowers, 75

Deborah Theresa Bowers, 75, of Alhambra, died on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at the Alhambra Rehab and Healthcare Center.

No services will be held at this time. Cremation rites were accorded. Barry Wilson Funeral Home of Maryville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ms. Bowers was born on May 18, 1947, in Pana, to the late Louis and Josephine (nee Donaldson) Dewerff. She graduated from Nokomis High School and worked as a sales consultant in the Jewelry Department at Walmart for 20 years. Ms. Bowers enjoyed golfing and bowling, but most of all spending time with her family.  She was a former member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon.

Ms. Bowers is survived by two sons, Brien (Tonia) Bowers of Hamel and Joseph (Heather) Bowers of Alton; seven grandchildren, Braden Bowers, Brienna Bowers, Kylie Bowers, Kayleigh Mceuen, Jakub Mceuen and Austin Mceuen; six great-grandchildren;  two brothers, Jim Dewerff of Nokomis and Michael Dewerff of Cape Girardeau, MO; two sisters, Karel O’Malley of Witt and Mary Lou Bertolino of Witt; a sister-in-law, Penny Dewerff of Nokomis; and many who called her “Grams.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Bowers; and a brother, Jeff Dewerff.
