Dawn A. Simonton, 58, of Nokomis, died on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, at her residence.
A visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Those attending are encouraged to adhere to CDC guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing.
Ms. Simonton was born Nov. 3, 1961, in Hillsboro, to Charles “Charlie” and Laura (Reed) Simonton.
During her career, she served as a CNA at local nursing homes. She attended First Baptist Church in Nokomis.
Ms. Simonton is survived by her fiance, Michael McKerrow of Nokomis; son, Tobi (Dawn) Simonton of Nokomis; daughter, Heather Jett of Quincy; six grandchildren; and two stepbrothers, Danny Robinson and Cory Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Randy and John Simonton.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
