David Michael House, 59, of Witt, died at 2:12 a.m. Thursday, Nov.17, 2022, at his residence. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 22, beginning at 1 p.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.  Military rites will be accorded by Department of Defense and Inter Veteran’s Burial Detail.  Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. 

Mr. House was born Aug. 12, 1963, in Hillsboro to Bobbi Lee House and Shirley Anne (Lloyd) House.  He was a 1981 graduate of Hillsboro High School and had worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Heartland Trucking Line.  He married Charlene Rice in 1982, and she preceded him in death in 2010.  He loved to tinker with tractors and cars. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corp, he had lived in Hillsboro and Witt.

Mr. House is survived by his mother, Shirley Anne (Lloyd) House Burrows of Piedmont; three daughters, Jessica (husband Matthew) Fenton of Carlinville, Nicole Miller of Hillsboro, and Gabrielle Miller of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Mark Utry, Deven Utry and Scott Fenton; and siblings, Gary House, Bobbi Edwards, Barb Jones, Max House, Jody Kramer and Tammy Vincent. 

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father, Bobbi Lee House; and siblings, Christopher House and Julie Rhodes.
