David Crossen, 55, of rural Sorento, died on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at the HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Lesicko Funeral Home located at 271 N 2nd Street in Livingston. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with his brother, the Rev. Clinton Crossen, officiating. Burial will be at the New Douglas Cemetery in New Douglas. In memory of Mr. Crossen, the family asks that those attending dress casually.  They also ask that everyone in attendance wear a mask or facial covering in accordance with current COVID-19 guidelines. Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Crossen was born on Friday, April 15, 1966, in East St. Louis, to Earl and Juanita (Wolf) Crossen. He married Lisa L. Moallankamp on March 28, 2003, in Edwardsville.

Mr. Crossen worked for over 40 years with the Illinois Painters Union and as a self-employed painter. He was a bow and shotgun deer hunter, a mushroom hunter and enjoyed fishing of all kinds and boating. Mr. Crossen loved to grill along with that special “Stag” sauce. He was a well accomplished pool player. No one could beat him. He enjoyed making wine and loved to read books.A special part of his life was his dog, Sprite.

Mr. Crossen is survived by his mother; wife; three sons, Jason (Rachel) McNaughton, Brian McNaughton and Bradley (Beth) McNaughton; daughter, Tana McNaughton; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Jr., Kaya and Evan McNaughton, Kamri Moreland, Wiatt McNaughton and Kyler Ishum; foster children, Shaun Baylee and Maggie Smith; siblings, Brenda Layer, Glena Crossen, Clifford (Sharon) Crossen, Curt (Sue) Crossen, Danny (Sharon) Crossen, Rita (Mark) Twetty and Clinton (Rhonda) Crossen; and uncles, aunts and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Gary Crossen; and brother-in-law, Barry Layer.
