David Alan Hardy, 55, of Raymond, formerly of Carlinville and Washington, IN, died on Saturday morning, July 18, 2020, at his residence.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Sugarland Memorial Garden Cemetery in Washington, IN, at a later date. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville is assisting the family.

Mr. Hardy was born July 22, 1964, in Washington, IN, the fifth of seven children to  John Robert “Bob” and Nancy (Sommers) Hardy.

He graduated from Washington High School in Washington, IN, with the class of 1982. He then attended Indiana University, where he played trumpet in the “Marching 100.” He also attended Murray State University in Murray, KY.

Mr. Hardy had a passion for classic rock music and was an avid Beatles fan. His hobby was collecting vinyl records and over the years, had thousands in his collection.

He was a member of Carlinville United Methodist Church and the Summer Repertory Theater in Carlinville, where he was cast with his son, Joe, in several productions.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his son, Joe Hardy of Carlinville; his son’s mother, Diane Hardy of Carlinville; three sisters, Cindy (Roger) Bullock of Evansville, IN, Carol (Brent) Elliot and Susan (Doyle) Rohlman, both of Washington, IN; two brothers, Mike (Sandy) Hardy of Zionsville, IN, and John (Stacy) Hardy of Evansville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Chet Hardy.

Memorials may be directed to the Summer Repertory Theater in Carlinville.
