Daniel Lee Rasch, Jr., 63, of Venedy, died on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at Herrin Hospital.
Private funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec.1, at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating. Burial will follow at Mascoutah City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Mascoutah American Legion.
Mr. Rasch was born Jan. 2, 1959, in Belleville, to Daniel L. and Lois R. (Stibal) Rasch, Sr.
He was a retired laborer and member of Laborers Local 742 in Mascoutah. Referred to as “Hoppy,” he loved the outdoors, never met a stranger, and was a hard worker who played by his own rules. His final wish to his daughters was, “I just want you to be happy.”
Mr. Rasch is survived by his mother; daughters, Tera (Craig) Scroggins of Hillsboro, Sheila (fiance Charles Williams) Rasch and Logan (Corey) Smith; six grandchildren, Jade, Aiden and Skylar Scroggins, Luhkas and Lilli Stone and Lana Smith; great-granddaughter, Saylor Bailey; brother, Larry (Cheryl) Rasch; sister, Sharol (Gary) Mattern; and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
