Daniel E. “Boone” Carruthers, 85, of Ramsey, died on Saturday, May 14, 2022, in Springfield.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Travis Warner officiating. Burial will be held at Ramsey Cemetery.
Mr. Carruthers was born April 13, 1937, in Elkhorn, WI, to Claude P. and Ima S. (Hardiman) Carruthers. He married Deborah Sue Woodward on April 22, 1989, in Danville, KY, and she survives.
He was a physical therapist with Memorial Home Healthcare throughout the surrounding area.
Mr. Carruthers was a member of Vera Baptist Church and Brownstown Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Daniel “Boonie” (Lisa) Carruthers of Ramsey; four daughters, Lana (Cloyd) Black of Auburn, Danita (Jason) Tippet of Jones, OK, Melinda Carruthers of St. Petersburg, FL, and Ima Jo (Travis) Towler of Plymouth, OH; brother, Richard Carruthers of Ramsey; sisters, Donna Depew of Shiloh and Nancy Stanton of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Carruthers was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Ray, Roy and Cloide; and six sisters, Claudia Alice, Mary, Rosallie, Helen, Rebecca and Imogene.
Memorials may be directed to Rehoboth Association Campground.
