After seven new COVID cases Sunday, 15 on Monday, and 24 on Tuesday, the month of August is on pace to be the fourth highest number of cases in Montgomery County since the pandemic began.
With an average of 11.8 new cases per day this month, August is on pace for 366 cases, the fourth highest since the pandemic began behind only the holiday spike months of November, December and January.
Five Litchfield students–three at the high school, one at the middle school, and one at Russell Elementary–tested positive, the superintendent announced on Monday.
The third of three drive-through vaccination clinics hosted by the Montgomery County Health Department this week is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, in front of the Litchfield Community Center on South State Street. All three vaccines will be available: Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson. Pre-registration is not required; bring an insurance card if you have one.
