Through the first three weeks of the month, Montgomery County is averaging 12.0 new COVID-19 cases per day, according to numbers furnished by the local health department.
The average daily cases through Monday, Nov. 22, are more than the 7.3 per day in October, but less than the 14.7 per day a year ago in November 2020.
On Monday, Nov. 22, the Montgomery County Health Department announced the 84th pandemic-related death in the county, the first since Oct. 25.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), 45.86 percent of Montgomery County residents are fully vaccinated, and 4.15 percent of those age 5-11 have had at least one vaccine dose.
As of Monday, Nov. 22, the Montgomery County Health Department has reported 4,444 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began; that number represents 15.5 percent of the county’s population.
