Connie L. Blackburn, 67, of Chatham, died on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 8 p.m. at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Virden.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, May 17, beginning at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen. Friends and family may gather at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen at 9:30 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery.

Mrs. Blackburn was born June 15, 1954, in Litchfield, to James and Joyce (Boedecker) McBride. She married Thomas Blackburn on May 18, 1974, in Litchfield, and he survives. She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1972. She was retired from the State of Illinois Department of Revenue.

Mrs. Blackburn loved watching soap operas, going to her boys’ baseball and football games and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Illini basketball. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. During her lifetime, she resided in Litchfield, Springfield and finally Chatham for the past 46 years.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Blackburn is survived by her sons, Chad M. Blackburn of Chatham and Jordan T. (wife Michaela) Blackburn of Springfield; three grandchildren, McKinzy M. Blackburn, Bennett W. Blackburn and Sutton D. Blackburn; and three siblings, Crystie Matthews, Jamie Bergmann and Russell DeWitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Rick A. McBride.
