Clarabelle “Clara” (Adcock) Dale, 92, of Coffeen, died on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at her home.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. A burial followed the visitation in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Greenville.
Mrs. Dale was born on Feb. 4, 1932, in Greenville to her parents David and Mary Elizabeth (File) Adcock. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1950 and went on to work for Olin Corporation and Arlens retail stores.
Mrs. Dale married Robert Dale Sr. in November of 1951, and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dale loved to spend her time gardening, fishing and gambling. However, her favorite pastime was making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandsons.
Mrs. Dale is survived by her granddaughter, Sayna (Daniel) Settle and grandson Dale Vick; great-grandsons Chase Settle and Treven Umphries; sisters Oneta Hennsley and Mary Elizabeth Craig; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Dale Sr.; son Robert Dale Jr.; daughter Mary Jane Shelbourne; and siblings James Compton, Oliver Gene Adcock and Doris Callahan.
