Cynthany Ellen Schroeder, 60, of Modesto, died on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, 226 N. 3rd St. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 4, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Boston Chapel Church in rural Girard. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in rural Atwater.
Mrs. Schroeder was born Nov. 27, 1962, in Springfield, to Harold W. and Linda K. (Arnold) Peper. She married Larry E. Schroeder on April 5, 1986, at Boston Chapel Church in rural Girard, and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2021.
She worked for the State of Illinois in the accounts payable department and retired in 2019.
Mrs. Schroeder was a member of Boston Chapel Church, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Sulpher Springs Cemetery Board. She was a workaholic who loved to read and play the piano for relaxation and her church.
She is survived by her mother of Girard; daughter, Amanda Marie (Patrick) Mann of Springfield; grandson, William Schroeder Mann; sister, Lorinda (Mark) Jennings of Litchfield; brothers, Jerry (Wendy) Peper of Illiopolis and Tom Peper of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in death by her father; and twin granddaughters.
Memorials may be directed to Boston Chapel Church in rural Girard or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
