Carolyn LaVonne “Midge” Orzel, 80, of Litchfield, died on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021 at 6:50 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. Plummer Funeral Services will be assisting the family.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1941, in Litchfield, a daughter of Walter Joseph and Mamie B. (DeWitt) Orzel. She married Charles “Gene” Wright in California, and they later divorced.
In her earlier years, she worked at WEPCO Manufacturing and Roller Derby Skate Corp. in Litchfield. She later was a waitress at Burger Chef and The Hut in Litchfield. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3912 and Women of the Moose in Litchfield. Ms. Orzel enjoyed astronomy, numerology, reading the newspaper, and she was an excellent cook. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa (David) Lewey; two grandchildren, Steve (Laurie) Lewey and Kevin Lewey, all of Litchfield; one great-grandchild, Honor Lewey; and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Orzel was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carl “Bob” Roach and John Orzel.
