Caroline Marak, 86, of Panama, died on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at 9 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

A private family graveside ceremony will be held at Union Cemetery in Panama with Pastor Ray Snider officiating. Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Panama is assisting the family.

Mrs. Marak was born March 28, 1934, in Bulpitt, to Raymond and Lucille (Holmes) Smith. She married John Dwight Marak in 1955, in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1996.

A homemaker, she attended the Panama Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering at various events within the Panama community.

In her spare time, Mrs. Marak enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by her children, Bradley D. Marak and Pamela (special friend Darin Nobbe) Padgett, both of Panama, and Roger D. (wife True Delene) Marak of Sorento; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Pearl Cruthis of Sorento; brothers, Tom and Joe Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Marak was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Clifford Smith and baby Donnie.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
