Carol L. (Atteberry) Heironimus, 73, of Springfield, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield, 530 N. 5th St. Only ten guests will be allowed to see the family at a time and are asked to wear masks upon entering the building. A private family graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield with Pastor Bennie Fisher of Eastview Baptist Church in Springfield officiating.

Mrs. Heironimus was born Jan. 18, 1947, in Litchfield, to John M. and Helen J. (Edrington) Atteberry. She married Rick Heironimus on Aug. 12, 1967, at First Baptist Church in Litchfield, and he survives.

She attended Litchfield High School and Hannibal-LaGrange College.

During her career, Mrs. Heironimus was a school and church secretary, as well as a substitute Kindergarten aide. However, she loved being a homemaker for her family.

She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Springfield. She loved reading, working on jigsaw puzzles and playing games with her grandkids.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Heironimus is survived by her children, Lynnett M. (Jim) Baker and Andrew B. (Rachael) Heironimus, both of Springfield; her grandchildren, McKenzie Suter, Jacob Heironimus, Marissa Heironimus and Mason Heironimus; as well as many beloved friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John N. Atteberry.
