Carl Thomas Beechler, Sr., 68, of Litchfield, died at 9:27 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at his residence.
Services will be held at a later time. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Beechler was born April 11, 1956, in Litchfield, a son of Robert Percy and Elda Mae (Pollard) Beechler. He attended Litchfield schools.
Mr. Beechler married the former Georgia Diane Claytor on Sept. 3, 2004, in Hillsboro and she survives.
Mr. Beechler worked construction most of his life. He was employed by K.W. Concrete in Litchfield and did carpentry work and asbestos abatement. He enjoyed working on cars and tinkering in his garage building and repairing things and was good at woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Beechler is survived by his son, C.J. (Jennifer) Beechler of Edwardsville and daughter, Kaci Taylor of Pampa, TX; stepsons, Derek (Angie) Dunham of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Travis Fletcher of Gillespie and stepdaughter, Ami (Jeff) Barr of Girard; brothers, Robert (Janice) Beechler of Litchfield, Ronald Beechler of Springfield, Vernon Beechler of Litchfield and Ricky (Dodie) Beechler of Nilwood; sisters, Mary (Ray Dean) Thompson of Litchfield, Marilyn (Donald) Harbison of Donnellson and Marlana (Kelly) Swanson of Litchfield; stepbrothers, Charles King and David King and stepsisters, Cheryl King, Dorothy King and Jenny King; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Charles “Sparky” King; siblings, John L. Beechler, Michael Beechler, Judy Kellenberger and Diane Pollard; and stepbrother, Scott King.
