Cahokia Creek Dirt Riders Host Hare Scramble


The Cahokia Creek Dirt Riders will be hosting the Jonah M. Niehaus Memorial Hare Scramble in White City on Sept. 13, in honor of the young motorcycle enthusiast who passed away in April.

Sign-ups start and gates open at 7 a.m., with the gate fee set at $10 and 12-and-under free. Race fees are $20 for the 50cc and 65cc Beginner divisions, $30 for 65cc, 85cc, Super Mini and Women’s classes, and $35 for the A, B and C classes. Pre-registration is open at

Racing will start with the 50cc and 65cc Beginner 30-minute races at 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. The 65cc, 85cc, Super Mini and Women’s classes will run 60-minute races, all starting at 10:45 p.m. The A, B and C divisions will begin at 12:30 p.m., with a two-hour race scheduled.

The event is part of the District 17 hare scramble schedule and ten bonus points are awarded in the point standings. District 17 and AMA membership is required.
