Bruce J. Venturelli, 72, of Elkville, died at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with cremation at Southern Cremation and Burial in Carbondale.
Mr. Venturelli was born on Dec. 7, 1950, to Joseph F. and Lorraine N. (Parrish) Venturelli, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
He was a member of the graduating class of 1969 at Hillsboro High School, where he played football as well as trumpet in the school band. He was a wonderful singer and musician. Upon graduation, he attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville for a time, before enlisting in the Army and serving his country for four years during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the railroad, he lived in Elkville.
He enjoyed riding his Harley with the many friends he had made, but his biggest passion was his twin sons, Joseph K and Patrick G. Venturelli.
Mr. Venturelli is survived by his twin sons Joseph K. Venturelli and Patrick G. Venturelli; siblings; sisters, Sherry L. Venturelli of Edwardsville and Judie Sollami Uchitel of Jasper, Georgia and brothers, Jerry A. Sollami of Mountain Home, AR, and Kevin J. Sollami of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Marco and Stella Krzton Venturelli, and Josephine L. Niehaus Parrish.
