Bruce G. Hickey, 68, of Coffeen, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at 3:15 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Burial was at Green Hill Cemetery in Van Burensburg.
Mr. Hickey was born on June 27, 1953 in South Fillmore Township in rural Coffeen, the son of Herbert and Emma Isabelle (Garwood) Jones.
He married Lorraine D. Bertrand on August 19, 1975; they later divorced. He married Beverly Ann (Harbert) Greenwood on June 10, 2007, and she survives in Coffeen.
Mr. Hickey was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in 1971 and enlisted in the Navy. He retired from the Navy on March 1, 2001 after serving 24 years, reaching the rank of Chief Yeoman.
In adition to his wife in Coffeen, he is survived by his mother in Hillsboro; a son, Brandon (wife Ashley) Hickey of Coffeen; step-sons Blake Crandall of Coffeen, Robert (wife Mandi) Crandall of Coffeen, and Scott (wife Sherry) Greenwood of Hillsboro; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Fred (wife Christine) Hickey of Lexington, KY, and Bill Hickey of Coffeen; a sister, Judy (husband Tim) Watson of Lombard; and step-brothers, Larry (wife Judy) Jones of Coffeen, David Jones of Litchfield, and Glenwood C. “Rocky” (wife Darlene) Jones of Coffeen.
He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, Glenwood H. Jones; a daughter, Lori Bremmer; and brothers Herbert Lee Hickey, Carl Norman Hickey, and Charles Ronald Hickey.
