Brittany Nicole Ingles, 35, of Sorento, died on April 11, 2025. She was born in Breese and grew up surrounded by family and friends in the close-knit community of Sorento.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Sorento Baptist Church, located at 206 W. Taylor St. in Sorento. Funeral will follow the visitation at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Zbinden officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.
Ms. Ingles was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother whose greatest joy in life was her son, Grayson McDonald. Her love for him was unwavering, and she poured her heart into being the best mom she could be.
Ms. Ingles graduated from Bond County Community Unit #2 High School in 2007 and continued to Kaskaskia College, where she earned her associate’s degree in nursing in 2011. She was proud of her career in healthcare, where she was known for her compassion and dedication.
Throughout her life, Ms. Ingles faced many challenges, but she met each one with courage, resilience, and a fierce determination to rise above. Her strength was an inspiration to those around her, and her ability to find light in the darkest moments will never be forgotten.
Ms. Ingles had a kind heart, a vibrant personality, and a strength that carried her through life’s challenges. She will be remembered not only for her deep love for her family but also for the light she brought into the lives of those around her. Her warmth, laughter and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Though her time here was far too short, the impact Ms. Ingles made will live on forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Ms. Ingles is survived by her son, Grayson McDonald of Greenville; parents, Brian and Kim Burlison of Sorento; sister, Heather Lemery (Matt Lemery) of St. Charles, MO, and brother, Nicholas Burlison of Sorento; and grandfather, Mike Burlison of Sparta.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Doris and Clifford Ingles; and paternal grandmother, Joann Burlison.
