Both Cases And Rate Up During Past Week


The number and rate of COVID-19 coronavirus cases in Montgomery County increased last week, with 36 new cases reported by the Montgomery County Health Department for a positivity rate of 3.2 percent during the week.

As of Sunday, Sept. 27, the health department reported 353 total cases and eight pending test results.  Since the first coronavirus case reported here on March 28, Montgomery County has an overall positivity 2.3 percent.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), cases at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro are up among both staff and inmates.  As of Sunday, Sept. 27, IDOC reported 59 cases among staff (40 of those are recovered) and 18 cases among inmates (three of those are recovered).
