Dane Bondurant of Witt hauled in five fish weighing 13 pounds, four ounces and almost $2,000 in prize money on Saturday, June 19, at the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Illini Division stop at Lake Shelbyville.
Bondurant was one of just two of the 105 competitors in the Strike King Co-Angler group to catch the limit of five fish and won the event by more than four pounds. Bondurant also fished in the first tournament of the Illini Division on May 22, finishing 34th at Rend Lake.
Matt Carroll of Hillsboro fished with Bondurant and took 21st in the boater group with a three-fish catch of eight pounds.
Floyd Carder of Litchfield finished in the top ten of the co-angler group, catching two fish weighing in at five pounds, 12 ounces. Danny Toohey of Sorento finished 38th in the group, catching one bass, weighing two pounds and two ounces.
The Phoenix Bass Fishing League Illini Division will be back at Rend Lake on July 17.
