Blanche Alene Birdsong, 102, of Benld, died at Evergreen Place in Litchfield on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, at 10:04 a.m.

Mrs. Birdsong was born on Dec. 11, 1921, in Pleasant Plains, AR to John Flippo and Cecil Eden Flippo. She married Luther Rex Birdsong on Dec. 25, 1938, and he preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker, playing bingo every Friday and was also an avid reader.She loved crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, bowling, dancing, cooking and being with family. She had taught a cooking class on making chocolate gravy at Evergreen Place a few weeks before her death.
Mrs. Birdsong is survived by her children, Cecil Ann (Dale) Elliott of Tyler, TX, Johnny (Elvia) Birdsong of Marion, TX, David Birdsong of Litchfield, Dean Birdsong of Wichita Falls, TX, Ronny (Martha) Birdsong of Rockport, TX, Sherry Munro of Benld, Debra Birdsong of Amarillo, TX, Terri Birdsong of Sherman, TX, and Michael Birdsong of Amarillo, TX; daughter-in-law and special friend Susan Birdsong of Riverside, CA; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and sibling, Nadine Woodyard of Batesville, AR.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her children, Billie Rex Birdsong, Kendell Birdsong, Linda Gerfers and Carolyn Boatman; grandsons, Dylan Morgan and Craig Birdsong; great-grandson, Liam Ronald Harshbarger; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Birdsong; brothers, Carl Flippo and Bernell Flippo; and twin sisters, Lucille West and Adele Woes.
