Benjamin Franklin Dixon, 70, of Benld, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 12:06 p.m. at his residence.
No public services are scheduled. Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld assisted the family.
Mr. Dixon was born July 26, 1951, in St. Louis, MO, to William Dixon and Jenny Carroll Dixon Wilson. He married Cindy, and she preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during Vietnam.
During his career, Mr. Dixon was a truck driver and had worked at Diamond Meat Packing in Carlinville. He was a knife collector.
He is survived by his children, Terrie Holmes of Gillespie, Elisabeth Dixon and Cindy Wallace, both of Litchfield; stepchildren, Travis Pryor and Christopher Pryor; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, John Wilson, Marie Balderson, Pam Boutwell and Sherry Teague.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his parents.
