Barbara Aileen Beeson, 89, of Casey, formerly of Hillsboro and Fillmore, died Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 3:52 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Moriah Church of God in Casey. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Jeff Lakins and Pastor Jaret Alvis co-officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Cemetery, south of Casey. Markwell Funeral Home in Casey is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beeson was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Brownstown, the daughter of John Glen and Mila Irene (Hooker) Patterson. She married Doyle Gene Beeson on Oct. 23, 1947, in Brownstown, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2014.
She attended Brownstown High School. After 12 years at Kearn Manufacturing in Neoga, she retired, and then retired from Hillsboro Glass after 16 years. She was a member of the Moriah Church of God. Her hobbies included quilting and sewing.
She is survived by Shirley (husband Jerrell) Whitten of Ramsey and Deborah Wygal of Hillsboro; sons, John (wife Sally) Beeson of Witt, Nathan (wife Libby) Beeson of Greenup, Victor (wife Lori) Beeson of Camargo and Vincent (wife Debra) Beeson of Tuscola; brother, Robert Patterson of Brownstown; sisters, Yvonne Watkin of Peoria, AZ, and Sue Thoman of Vandalia; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Dean Patterson and Gordon Patterson, and sisters, Violet Davis and Brenda Grinstaff.
