Arlene Rosella Claytor, 81, of La Porte, IN, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at 9:09 p.m. at her home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 8, at the First Baptist Church of Kingsbury in La Porte, IN, with Pastor Tim Williams officiating. Inurnment will be held in Litchfield at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory in La Porte, IN, assisted the family.

Mrs. Claytor was born April 7, 1941, in Litchfield, to Hershel and Frances (Weir) Bishop. She married the love of her life, Robert Claytor, on May 15, 1959, and he survives.

She was a homemaker who loved her family life, spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, Goodwill and Elvis. She also enjoyed sports and especially loved watching NASCAR’s Dale Earnhart, Utah Jazz basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and New Orleans Saints football.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Claytor is survived by her daughter, Kim (Daniel) Fleming, Sr.; son, Robert (Cathy) Claytor; sisters, Beakay Meyer and Patty Thompson; five brothers, Raydean (Mary) Thompson, James (Marge) Thompson, Gary (April) Thompson, Kevin Thompson and George (Diane) Thompson; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Kamilah) Fleming, Serina (Dana) Fleming, Joshua (Jaclyn) Fleming, Sydnee (Elijah) Fleming, Aimee (Gavin) Roy, Michael (Sloane) Claytor, Racheal (Malik) Calhoun and Thomas (Meghan) Claytor; nine great-grandchildren, Ophelia Claytor, Frankie and Hayden Ashford, Oliver and Stella Roy, Jaden Jones, Brielle Calhoun, and Bailey and Lily Claytor; and one great-great-grandchild, Koa Calhoun.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, April L. Claytor; six brothers, Tommy and Marvin Rundle and John, Stanley and Terry Thompson, and William Bishop; three sisters, Lois Jean Carenduff, Donna Davis and Geraldine Rentz; and special brother-in-law, Kenny Meyer.
