Area Riders Go Big At 2021 Big Red Enduro


The Cahokia Creek Dirt Riders hosted their annual Big Red Enduro on Sunday, Oct. 17, with 70 riders competing in this year’s event.

Several area riders took home wins from the five-section endurance race in White City, including Litchfield’s Ryan Komor, who topped the 16-29 C class with a time of 2:33:11.478. 

Carlinville’s Jordan Emmons and Mt. Olive’s Brandon Frizzo also picked up wins in the Open A and Vet 30+ B classes, while Gillespie’s Collin Johnson won Open B in a time of 2:19:55.269. Emmons ran a 3:00:01.941, while Frizzo ran a 2:31:22.373.

In AA, Matt McDonald took the win and was the overall top finisher, followed by Lake Plowman of Waverly and Jhadyn Walker of Morrisonville. The trio finished within 75 seconds of one another.

Other area riders included Jeff Kaylor of Gillespie in second in Open A, Josh Billington of Hillsboro in fourth in Vet 30+ B, Darold Johnson of Gillespie in second in Senior 40+ B and Ryan Waldeck of St. Louis in eighth in Vet 30+C.
