Anna Jean Foster, 90, of Springfield, formerly of Litchfield, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Graveside services will be held at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29. Lynne Taylor of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.
Mrs. Foster was born July 28, 1934, in Sheridan, KY, a daughter of James Henry and Ruth Elizabeth (Walker) Gilland. She attended high school in Tolu, KY. She married Glen David Crocks and they later divorced. She later married Gerald William Foster and he survives.
Mrs. Foster was a familiar face at The Gardens restaurant in Litchfield, where she waitressed for many years. She was also employed by Walmart Stores, Inc. for 30 years in Springfield, where she was a department manager and retired in 2013. Mrs. Foster enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening. She particularly loved to bake birthday cakes for her family and found joy in hosting Christmas dinner for her family each year.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband, Gerald W. Foster of Litchfield; son, David (Vicky) Crocks of Litchfield and daughter, Brenda Stamer of Chatham; brother, Bobby Don (Mary) Gilland of Marion, KY; three grandchildren, Jeremy Stamer, Travis (Lauren) Crocks, and Sara (Zach) Rodeffer; and five great-grandchildren, Amelia, Hannah and Cameron Rodeffer, Hayden and Mason Crocks.
Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Helen Corn, Laverne Croft and Virginia Corn.
