Amanda Jo Rhoads, 36, of Ashland, died Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 2:46 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 9 to 11 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church in Ashland. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Darin Peterson officiating. Burial will be held in Hart Cemetery at 3 p.m. in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.
Ms. Rhoads was born July 25, 1984, in Paris, a daughter of Stephen Joseph and Gloria Jeane (Field) Rhoads. She graduated from A-C Central High School with the class of 2002. She attended Judson College in Elgin.
A teacher’s aide with the A-C Central School District, she was a member of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church in Ashland. She enjoyed singing and doing arts and crafts.
She is survived by her father, Joe Rhoads of Ashland; one daughter, Caray Jo Rhoads of Ashland; one brother, Stephen J. (Angie) Rhoads of Fredericksburg, VA; one sister, Wendy Prater of Fredericksburg, VA; and five nieces and nephews, Chrystal Haselett, Marcos Gonzalez, Grace Young, Lilian Rhoads and Wyatt Prater.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Rosalie Towel, and Donald and Mary Jane Rhoads.
Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Christian Fellowship or St. John’s Breadline in Springfield.
