Aloys “Al” Huene, 79

Aloys “Al” Huene, 79, of Litchfield, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at 7:25 a.m. at Carlinville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. The funeral service will begin immediately after visitation at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow the services.

Mr. Huene was born May 9, 1942 in Breese, the son of Alois Bernard and Helen Margaret (Marcus) Huene. He married Janet Lorene Buehler in 1965;  they later divorced. He later married Linda Marie Houba; they later divorced. He married Brenda Lea Wilson in 2003, and she survives.

Mr. Huene was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was an Electronics Technician (ETN3) serving on board the USS Wasp - the last U.S. Navy wooden deck aircraft carrier to serve in the fleet. He was an entrepreneur and self-employed over the years. He was owner of the Blue White Chemical Company, selling chemicals and supplies to laundries and restaurants. He also was a sales agent for Federated Insurance Company and had a sales route for Red Baron Pizza. Later he worked for Basler Electric Company and for AT&T as a comunications engineer. Mr. Huene and his wife, Brenda, owned and operated Gabby’s Bar and Stroker’s in Litchfield until he sold the businesses. He was the administrator of the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634 and enjoyed playing pool.

Mr. Huene is survived by his sons, Christopher (wife Trina) Huene of Edwardsville, Greg (wife Kirsten) Huene of Edwardsville, and Roy W. Wilson, III of Gillespie; daughter Amy Wilson (companion Robert McDonald) of Litchfield; brother David (wife Barb) Huene of Cumming, GA; and nine grandchildren, Allison and Trevor Huene, Dakota, Desire and Danielle Huene, Jordyne and Haylee Willis, Wesley McDonald and Emma Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dee Borgelt.
