Alberta L. Quattlander, 98, of Nokomis, died on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, at 2:36 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Oct. 31, beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis with Pastor Chris Prumm officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Nokomis. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. Quattlander was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Rountree Township, to Walter and Edna (Engelhart) Schweizer. She married Ivan Quattlander on March 26, 1944, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2007.

She grew up on a dairy farm. She and her husband would continue the dairy business for nearly 50 years.

Mrs. Quattlander was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Nokomis. She attended services regularly until her passing.

She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially being called GiGi. She lit up when they were around. She was a wonderful cook and will be remembered for her apple pie, frosted angel food cakes, homemade chicken and noodles and Sunday roast.

Mrs. Quattlander is survived by her daughter, Linda (Keith) Bland of Maryville; son, Marlin (Jill) Quattlander of Nokomis; grandchildren, Brooke (John) Wiemers, Matt (Katrina) Quattlander, Robin (Cody) Kleiner, Lindsey (Broderick) Lawson and Shawn (Sarah) Bland; ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Schweizer of Nokomis.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wilma Hagemeier; and brother, Melvin Schweizer.
