Albert “Al” Glenn Loftis, Jr., 66, of Gillespie, died peacefully with his wife and children by his side on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at his home.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 12, beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gillespie Cemetery.
Mr. Loftis was born March 28, 1956, in Granite City, to Albert Glenn and Georgia Ann (Hasty) Loftis, Sr. He married Elizabeth Ann Tarrant on Aug. 20, 1977, in Washington Park, and she survives.
He was an auto detailer for Victory Lane.
Well-known in the Gillespie community, Mr. Loftis enjoyed car shows, fishing, camping and being social.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Daniel Scott (spouse Julie) Loftis of Virden, Christina Marie (partner Jenni Tate) Loftis of St. Louis, MO, and Christopher Allen (spouse Melissa) Loftis of Mt. Clare; grandchildren, Austin D. Loftis of Gillespie, Dalton S. Loftis, Cassandra L. Loftis, both of Virden, Charlie Warden and Amber Vail, both of St. Louis, MO; great-granddaughter, Armella Diane Rose Loftis of Gillespie; and siblings, Debbie Hayden, Richie Loftis and Tommy Loftis.
Mr. Loftis was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Madyson Diane Loftis; brothers, Robbie E. Loftis and William Lee Loftis; and sisters, Alma “Faye” Hart and Alice Ann Loftis.
