Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everything has been a little different this year and the 2020 version of TEAM Memorial Playday is no exception.
On Monday, June 15, the TEAM Committee announced that the seventh annual event, which raises funds for the Lincolnwood Junior High and High School athletic programs, will have a slightly different format.
To be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Shoal Creek Golf Course in Raymond, the outing will be a nine-hole tournament this year, with tee times starting at 6:30 a.m. and teams of four going off every 15 minutes until around 6 p.m.
The entry fee is $50 per player, with four players per team. For those who would like to play 18 holes, the cost is $75 per player, with the team signing up for two tee times and turning in their best nine-hole round.
Tee times will be given on a first come-first serve basis and can be reserved by calling the Shoal Creek Pro Shop at 217-229-4545.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no group meal at the end of the evening, but food will be delivered to golfers on the course throughout the day. Midway Bar and Grill in Harvel will also be donating a portion of their food proceeds from that day to the TEAM Memorial Playday and Lincolnwood athletics.
Another change for 2020 is that the group will not be holding their Trifecta raffle or auction in conjunction with the golf outing this year.
