Virginia Casey, 95

Virginia Casey, 95, died March 4, 2019, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro. She married Norman Casey in 1943. He preceded her in death in 2011.

The Casey family moved from Metropolis to Hillsboro in 1964. Virginia “Ginny” owned and operated Ginny’s Sewing Center in the 70s and 80s. She enjoyed Bingo, camping, bowling, knitting, sewing, reading and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

She is survived by two daughters, LouAnn Trebing (Fred) of Edwardsville and Cheryl Jarman (Doug) of Hillsboro. Grandchildren surviving are Casey Bassford (Don) of Auburn, Katy Evans (Cory), Hillsboro, Mitchell Jarman, Ottowa, Ashley Harness (Austin), Troy, Brittany Clark (Justin), Maryville, along with five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Norman, she was preceded in death by sister, Louise Rackley, and brother, Sam Davis.

The family has chosen to celebrate their mother and grandmother’s life with a private family gathering.
