Shirleyann Hubbard, 97, of Nokomis, died Thursday, June 29, 2023, at her home in Nokomis with her family by her side.

Visitation for Mrs. Hubbard will be Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis at 11  a.m., with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Nokomis Cemetery.   Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Hubbard was born January 29, 1926, in Coalton, to Andrew and Anna (Bednar) Kapilla.  She was a graduate of Nokomis High School.  She and George Hubbard were married June 29, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis and celebrated 77 years of marriage. She worked for Sheepskin Manufacturing and the State of Illinois.  Mrs. Hubbard’s greatest joy in life was her family.  She also enjoyed a good game of pinochle.

Her and her husband were the proud parents of three sons: Marc Edward (Amanda) Hubbard of Nokomis, Blake Andrew (Jackie) Hubbard of Ottawa and Lance George Hubbard of Nokomis; grandchildren Dawn Denise Hubbard, Jina (Mike) Boarman, Bailee (Eric) Radle,  Breann Vincent, Nick English, Brittney (Tyler) Batty and Ashley (Chance) Altevogt; great grandchildren Ian Redman, Cole Calame,Bella Richardson, Luke Boarman, Anna Boarman, Gavin Vincent, Ethan Vincent, Logan Vincent, Jaycey McCaslin, Remi English, Alyson English, Jaxson Batty and Ella Batty; sister-in-law Cleo Kapilla of Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Tracy Hubbard, grandson, Jack Hubbard and brother Clifford Kapilla.
