Sammi Should Be Selected For HHS Hall Of Fame

Posted

As a member of the HHS athletic hall of fame, I'm writing this letter to highly recommend Sammi Matoush for nomination and selection to the hall of fame.

Sammi's outstanding achievements and contribution to the HHS athletic program has deemed her worthy of this great honor.  Sammi has excelled as a great player and student.

In speaking with her coach, Bret Tuetken, he said Sammi was accepted as the team leader the first time she touched a basketball as a freshman and has remained in that role throughout her four years.

The most impressive part of Sammi's game was her scoring points.  Her leadership role did not interfere with her scoring or all-around game.

Since basketball has been an authorized sport in the Illinois school system, hundreds and hundreds of girls have played.  Sammi's over 2,800 points scored is12th place in all-time scoring.  That in itself should be enough for selection to the hall.

I'm asking all present and former players and coaches to contact the hall of fame chairman and committee members to make this nomination and selection to the hall.  HHS loyal fans are more than welcome to help.
