Rosemary Cecelia Anna Mattli, 95, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at 8:08 p.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

She suffered from a fall, and never completely recovered. Fortunately, all her family gathered to celebrate her birthday earlier in August.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Daniel J. Willenborg and the Rev. James L. Neuman, pastor emeritus of Holy Family Catholic Church, presiding. Burial will follow at Harvel Cemetery. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.

Mrs. Mattli was born on Aug. 27, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of John William and Lelah Anna (Holmer) Mattli, and they preceded her in death.

Mrs. Mattli graduated from Notre Dame High School in St. Louis, MO with the class of 1946. She was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in St. Louis, MO for more than 30 years before retiring. After retirement, she moved to Litchfield. 

An active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield, she formerly served as eucharistic minister and gift bearer. She was also a member of the Durant Life Council Telephone Pioneers in St. Louis, MO, the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, Notre Dame Missions in St. Louis, “The Eyes Have It” Renew group and Royal Neighbors of America. She was a former member of the Montgomery County Home Extension Suburbanite Unit.

Mrs. Mattli is survived by a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
