Ronald David Visintine, 76, of Litchfield, died Monday, May 7, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 11, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, May 12, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield, with Father Dan Willenborg officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville.

Mr. Visintine was born July 8, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, a son of Angelo David and Florence Elizabeth (Crank) Visintine. He married Donna J. Hessler on Aug. 10, 1963, and they later divorced.

He graduated from Assumption High School in East St. Louis and also graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy as a registered pharmacist in 1963. He owned and operated The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Litchfield for 23 years, retiring in 2004.

Mr. Visintine was a member of Holy Family Parish and Knights of Columbus Council #699, as well as an active member of the community, serving his community in many capacities. He was a member of the Litchfield Fire Department from 1964 to 2014, where he had served as both captain and treasurer. He also served on the Litchfield Park Board, where he was president for several years.

He is survived by his three sons, Mark (Cindy) Visintine of Bloomington, Brian (Cynthe) Visintine of High Ridge, MO, and Matt (Julie) Visintine of Columbia; one brother, Gary Visintine of Springfield; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Dugan; and three grandsons, Roman A. Visintine and Kyle and Justin Bruno.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Goodenough.

Memorials may be made to the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department or Onward in Faith Campaign, to benefit Zion Lutheran School in Litchfield.
