R.C. Litz, 38, of Pana, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

A Funeral Mass was held Monday, Dec. 3, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pana, with the Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Burial was held in Calvary Cemetery in Pana. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Litz was born Oct. 21, 1980, in Decatur, to Richard C. and Tresa M. (Vandenbergh) Litz. He married Tabitha Spinner on Sept. 16, 2006, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, and she survives.

He lived all of his life in Pana, and was a 1998 graduate of Pana High School. He received his associate's degree in civil engineering from Lake Land College in 2001. He worked 18 years for the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Mr. Litz was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pana, the Pana Moose Lodge, Pana Elks Lodge, Pana Eagles Club and Pana Knights of Columbus.

He loved hunting, boating and swimming, shopping, farming, motorcycles, grilling, renovating the old into new, and especially spending time with his friends and his family. He never knew a stranger, and he had a larger-than-life personality and a contagious smile.

Besides his wife, he is survived his daughters, Mallory Renee, Morgan McKay and Memphis Lenay, all at home; sisters, Vanessa (Kirby) Manuel of Pana, Meghen (Mark) Montgomery of Shelbyville and Twishia (Carl) Nail of Litchfield; mother-in-law, Corinna (Randy) Wehrle; father-in-law, Tony (Carolyn) Spinner; brother-in-law, Josh (Andrea) Spinner; and nieces and nephews, Hayleigh Manuel, Karsen Manuel, Wyatt Montgomery, Sophia Nail, Xana Tomasello and Alyse Tomasello.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for Mallory, Morgan and Memphis Litz at the Bank of Hillsboro in Pana or Cancer Care Institute for Neuroendocrine Research.
