Nakita Rose Ahrens, 21, of Staunton, died on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at her residence.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Following the visitation, family and friends will proceed to Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas for a graveside service with the Rev. Nathan Nelson and the Rev. Duncan Ahrens co-officiating.

Mrs. Ahrens was born on March 29, 1997, to Ada White Grant, David Linville and stepfather Howard McMillin. She married Michael Ahrens on March 3, 2017, and he survives.

She attended Gillespie High School and was employed by Subway in Staunton. 

Mrs. Ahrens was a member of the Schram City Baptist Church in her youth, and attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Litchfield and Assembly of God church in both Staunton and Gillespie. She was very active in youth groups at church and church camp, and was a wonderful singer.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and loved to read. She will always be remembered for her fun and outgoing personality.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ahrens is survived by her mother of Eagerville; brothers, Alan Michael, Noah and Rueben McMillin, all of Eagerville; sisters, Sarah (Doolin) Laurent of Hillsboro, Ava M. McMillin of Coffeen, Roseann McMillin of Staunton, Madison L. McMillin of Eagerville and Mackinzie McMillin of Iowa; one nephew, Alex McMillin Perry; two nieces, Hannah and Hailey Laurent; her grandparents, James and Margaret "Granny" Doolin of Hillsboro; and an uncle, Leonard White of Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Billy Linville.
