Mary Alice Schwartz, 76, of Nokomis, formerly of Witt, died on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at 9:15 a.m. at Nokomis Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Father Rodney Schwartz officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Barbara's Cemetery in Witt. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schwartz was born on June 15, 1941, in rural Morrisonville, to William J. and Minnie A. (Hefley) Boehler. She married Louis S. Schwartz on June 30, 1962, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2016.
She is survived by a son, Father Rodney A. Schwartz of Pana; a daughter, Trisha (Bradley) Cachera of Witt; granddaughters, Lauren and Kacie Cachera; a sister, Norma Niehaus of Litchfield; and two brothers, Darrell Boehler of Makanda and Larry Boehler of Mulberry Grove.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Louis, William and Rickey Schwartz; and two brothers, Gerald and William Boehler.
