Margaret Mary (Wells) Sharp, 73, of Hillsboro, died Aug. 31, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6, beginning at 11 a.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services will follow at noon in Green Hill Cemetery in Van Burensburg, with Pastor Run Butler officiating.
Mrs. Sharp was born in Chicago to her parents, Tom and Ann Wells, on Aug. 6, 1950. Mrs. Sharp married John Sharp, and they had been married for 38 years.
She was a high school graduate and studied at Lincoln Land Community College.
Mrs. Sharp was a hard worker who loved Jesus, her family and life altogether. She worked at Hillsboro Glass, but had since retired. In her free time, she enjoyed going to the casinos and slot machines.
Along with her husband John, she is survived by her four children, Mike Lebeter of Morrisonville, Robbi Hoppes of Gillespie, John Sharp of Taylor Springs and Jonnalin Sharp of Carlinville; five grandchildren Katrina Grundy, Maddlin Lebeter, Charles Williams, Jayde Sharp, Chad Sharp and one great-granddaughter Lena Grundy; siblings Pat Planek, Nancy Peat, Wess Wells, Matt Wells and Angie McDonald; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Billy Wells and Theresa Blanchong.
