Lorna Hosto, 94, of Staunton, died on Monday, April 15, 2019, at Heritage Health: Therapy and Senior Care in Gillespie.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Douglas, 205 North 7th Street. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Zachary Lysdahl officiating. Burial will be held in the New Douglas Cemetery.

Mrs. Hosto was born June 10, 1924, in Alhambra, to Joseph and Laura (Leuscher) Lappie. She married Herbert E. Hosto on May 7, 1944, in Grantfork, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1988.

She was a homemaker and belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Douglas.

Mrs. Hosto is survived by two sons, Richard (wife Rita) Hosto of Greenville and James Hosto of Roseville, CA; two daughters, Kay (husband Tom) Schafer of Springfield and Jill (husband Jim) Marra of Staunton; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fredrick Hosto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Evelyn Highley and Leona Halbe; and brother, Joseph Lappie.
