Jean Ann Heistand, 82, of Bingham died on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 5:30 a.m. at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Allen and Sutton Funeral Home in Fillmore. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11 a.m. at Allen and Sutton Funeral Home in Fillmore, with the Rev. Tim Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Little Hickory Cemetery in Rural Fillmore.

Mrs. Heistand was born on April 1, 1936 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Jim and Mary (Cook) Bumgartner. She married Harry Heistand Jr. on Jan. 27, 1958 in Springfield, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Heistand worked as a homemaker and she helped her husband on the farm. She was a caregiver for her husband and she loved making crafts, including soaps and cleaning supplies.

Mrs. Heistand kept very busy and always had multiple projects going at once. A member of Woodside Community Church and Woodside Ladies Aid, she also volunteered at Nokomis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and did nails for many years.

Mrs. Heistand is survived by her children Steve (Debbie) Heistand of Springfield, Jackie (Randy) Goodman of Fillmore and Marlene (Bobby) Wood and Harry James Heistand both of Vandalia;  grandchildren Billy (Megan) Goodman, Tim (Melissa) Goodman, Amanda McNutt, Nathan (Katherine) Hebenstreit, Tyler Heistand, Sarah Heistand, Rachel (Yuki) Tsunono and Amy Davis; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Dodson.
