Harold Wayne "Clyde" Ellinger, Sr., 82, of Litchfield, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at 11:04 a.m. at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Gillespie.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jon Magnuson of Beacon Church in Litchfield, officiating. Burial will be held in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.

Mr. Ellinger was born April 24, 1936, in Gary, IN, a son of Bill and Agnes (Durbin) Ellinger. He married Marjorie Ann Wendel on April 14, 1956, in Litchfield, and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2012.

He and his wife owned and operated Ellinger Sanitation Service in Litchfield for many years until they retired.

A member of Moose Lodge #1634 in Litchfield, where he held several offices, including Governor and Past Governor, he enjoyed bowling, playing cards and his animals.

In his younger years, he liked to hunt and was a licensed deer rescuer. He especially enjoyed his family and their family get-togethers.

He is survived by two sons, Bill (Donna) Ellinger, Sr., of Litchfield, and Harold Ellinger, Jr., and fiancee Debbie Malloy of Hillsboro; three daughters, Linda (Jesse) Arnold of Mt. Olive and Debbie (Mike) Logsdon and  Sally (Kent) McBrain, all of Litchfield; 15 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Dick (Faye) Ellinger of Lewistown.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Leigh Ann Logsdon and Amy Logsdon; three brothers, Bill Ellinger, Jr., who was killed in action during WWII, Lamoine Ellinger and Herb Ellinger; and one sister, Helen Hood.

Memorials may be made to the Moose Scholarship Fund.
