Gary Lee Forbus, 77, of Fillmore, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at his home in Fillmore.
Private graveside services will be held for the family. Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Forbus was born Aug. 12, 1946, in Vandalia, the son of the late George Henry Clinton and Pauline Wilma (Rhodes) Forbus. He married Letta Louise Stephens on Oct. 26, 1968, in Missouri, and she preceded him in death on June 26, 2022.
Mr.Forbus worked for the State of Illinois for 28 years, served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968 during the Vietnam Era and was affiliated with the Bingham Baptist Church.
Mr. Forbus is survived by his children, sons, Aaron Forbus of Bingham and Seth (Jhoanna) Forbus of Fillmore and daughters, Melanie Forbus of St. Jacob, Stephanie Forbus of Bingham, Libby Forbus of Fillmore and Amy (Mike) Rosenberger of Ramsey; siblings, brothers Gregory (Sydney) Forbus of Laurel, MS and Bruce Forbus of Wamac and sisters Joan (Robert) Langley of Vandalia, Gloria Comper of Centralia and Yvonne Upton of Republic, MO; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr.Forbus was preceded in death by his parents; wife and brothers Larry and Terry Forbus.
